Instagram has been focusing its attention on Reels, its short-form video TikTok clone, by releasing similar features. Users can now “remix” any video content on the platform, not just limited to the Reels. “Remix” is Instagram’s response to TikTok’s duet feature. Instagram has come out with “Reels Visual Replies” that lets users reply to comments on post with Reels. Again, this is a clone of TikTok’s video replies feature which lets them do the exact same thing. Instagram’s latest launch introduced auto-generated captions in 17 languages for videos on its app. This follows TikTok rolling out their own auto captions back in April of 2021.

Reels continue to be the largest contributor to engagement growth on the app and Instagram plans to continue to invest in the feature.
