Pinterest to Invest in Underrepresented Creators

As the demand for Creators heats up, Pinterest has announced that it’s doubling its investment in its Creator Fund with an additional $1.2 million for underrepresented groups. Just last year, Pinterest debuted its creator fund with an initial pool of $500,000. The Creator fund focuses specifically on supporting creators from underrepresented groups by offering both financial and educational resources.

The recently expanded Creator Fund will invest in its creators across quarterly cycles that are 5 weeks long. These cycles will focus on different content areas such as: Fashion/Beauty, Wellness, Lifestyle/Home and Food.

Pinterest is not the only platform trying to attract creators to their platform . In 2020, TikTok launched their $200 million creator fund. Meta committed $1 billion and YouTube announced a $100 million fund for shorts creators, specifically targeting TikTok. Snapchat has also paid $250 million to its TikTok clone spotlight just last year.
